My Bio
As a child and into my teens, I was always drawing. I even went on to study drafting/design in my first attempt at college but some soul searching led me to decide that that just wasn't what I wanted to do for a living. Within a year or so after quitting school, I became too critical of my efforts and just gave up drawing altogether. I've recently picked my pencils back up and I hope that you'll join me on my journey back into the wonderful world of art!

My chosen medium is graphite, of course - it's my first love - but I have dabbled in colored pencil, ink, pastels, and digital work (PhotoShop). I've recently began adding charcoal and carbon pencils to my drawings in order to combat the dreaded "graphite shine" that is unavoidable while going dark with graphite alone (anyone that tells you different is just, plain wrong). This also allows me to achieve a true black in my drawings - another possibility that is impractical, at best, with graphite alone.

A rather heated divorce has left me without a drawing desk in my new apartment. All this after the marriage robbed me of any drawing time for the past 10 years! I have a new desk on order and then it'll be just a matter of putting the desk together and I'll get started; I truly hope that you'll follow along with my future progress! I can only hope that my art will touch as many lives as my medical care did.

Thanks for the watch, friend:)
I've heard people sometimes will go back over their shiny dark areas with a harder lead, like 2B or something, and apparently it helps .. I've not tried it yet, so cant verify it works :D
